Understand the Discord permissions required by Titan Modmail and the access your staff roles should receive.

Bot permissions

Required Discord access

Titan Modmail needs permission to create private ticket channels, send messages, produce transcripts and write support logs.

Allows Titan Modmail to access the configured ticket category, logging channel and transcript channel.

Send Messages

Allows the bot to send ticket updates, staff replies, logs and setup messages.

Embed Links

Required for formatted ticket messages, setup panels, logs and status information.

Attach Files

Allows Titan Modmail to upload HTML transcripts and forward supported attachments.

Read Message History

Allows the bot to access previous messages required for ticket handling and transcript generation.

Manage Channels

Allows Titan Modmail to create, rename and close private ticket channels.

Manage Messages

Used where required for ticket controls, cleanup and supported moderation of bot messages.

Staff access

Recommended role permissions

Server Owner

Full access to installation, configuration, subscriptions and all server settings.

Administrator

Can normally install and configure Titan Modmail, depending on server permissions.

Configured Staff Role

Can view tickets, reply to users, claim conversations and close tickets.

Department Role

Can access tickets routed to the department assigned to that role.

Regular Member

Cannot view private ticket channels unless they have been given additional Discord permissions.

Security checks

Keep ticket access private

Place the Titan Modmail role above staff roles it may need to reference or manage.

Do not give regular members access to the ticket category.

✓

Keep transcript and logging channels restricted to authorised staff.

✓

Remove ticket access when a staff member leaves the team.

✓

Avoid giving the bot Administrator unless it is genuinely required.

Review channel overrides after moving or renaming categories.

Incorrect permissions can expose private tickets

Discord channel overrides can allow unintended roles to view ticket conversations or transcripts. Always test access using a regular member account before opening Titan Modmail publicly.
